Walk Towards Fitness
As states and counties reopen public venues at different rates, walking is the one form of exercise that’s still available to everyone. Walking has numerous health benefits. Below is a list of just a few of the powerful advantages walking as a form of exercise provides:
Hyun Su’s Big Dreams
One morning, Master Kyung was sitting on the patio with his grandson, Hyun Su. Hyun Su had to do his chores before practicing his Taekwondo lesson.
I don’t want to do these stupid chores, he thought.
Personal Power
Every martial artist who trains consistently achieves personal power by increasing their potential power. By applying potential power in a positive way, they enhance their ability to improve their own lives and the lives of people around them. It is this application of potential power in a positive way that gives us the greatest personal power.
Regular Schedule Hours
After 2 weeks of successful private classes, we will be returning to our regular schedule with restrictions to class size. Each class will be limited to 10 students. Masks are optional but strongly encouraged to prevent cross infection. All students will be scanned for their temperature; any temperature reading in excess of 100 Fahrenheit will be asked to leave the facility and not participate in the class. We ask that students come to class dressed, and ready for their workout.
The Time to Act
Engaging in genuine discipline requires that you develop the ability to take action. You don’t need to be hasty if it isn’t required, but you don’t want to lose much time either. Here’s the time to act: when the idea is hot and the emotion is strong.
How to Work Out at Home Effectively
Chances are you’re at home self-isolating thanks to the coronavirus pandemic that’s sweeping our country. Keeping active, especially when staying at home for such an extended period of time, is crucial to your physical and mental health. Here are some tips and tricks for working out at home to keep the blues and illness at bay.
School Reopening (May 18th)
Starting next Monday (May 18th), We will be reopening our school for in person classes. All lessons will be private and 30 mins long. We will limit each student to 2 lessons per week. Families will be allowed to practice together on the floor. You can reach our booking page through the student portal. Our most vulnerable students can participate in a private (appointment only) zoom session three days a week at 7:30pm Mon- Wed- Fri.
The True Point of the Martial Arts
Master Kang was a very philosophical Master of the martial arts. He often liked to talk with his students to make a point about how the martial arts are important for living.
On one occasion, Master Kang said, “When I was younger I was feared as a martial artist because I hurt my opponents.”
Forms
Forms are a part of many martial arts, but in Taekwondo, they are called poomsae and are the heart and soul of the martial art. Although you can’t attend class at your martial arts school, you should still keep practicing forms at home so that you’ll be ready to test for your next belt level once classes resume.
Your Home Is Your Gym
Who doesn’t hate going to the gym? Face it: it takes time to go to the gym, to work out, and to take care of all the other necessary duties that accompany this endeavor. But it doesn’t have to be this way. When it comes to results, you may be even better off by not going to the gym—if you play your cards right, that is.
Winning is a Choice
During a time of training or competing, victory will happen for those who make winning their choice. Just by deciding to win and following up with action, winning becomes a habit.

Hard Work Yields Great Results
There was a Grandmaster of the martial arts who wanted to pass his art on to his two sons. One of the boys was physically talented, but the other was just average. The boy who didn’t have the physical talent worked very hard to gain skill in what the father taught, but the other boy was lazy and relied on his physical talent. In the course of time, the boy who had less physical talent surpassed his brother in skill. The talented brother was upset, so he went to his father to complain.
Challenge
We all want to be a winner, but in order to achieve this goal we must be able to dominate our skills with our minds, bodies, and souls. What you say, how your body movements flow, and whether you maintain your fitness level will determine how quickly and agilely you move. If you exert a supreme guiding influence over your body with your mind, then your mind dominates your gestured skills. If you practice long enough, your mind will be in tune with your body and your skills will dominate other people when necessary. While in a tournament, your mind will be as one with your body and your skills will present this as you fight. Just as you control your opponent to win the fight, you must always be in control of your destination in every aspect of your life.
